Mysticon, and his assistant Al, started out as a third rate magical that performed his act on the streets.  However, Morgana gave Mysticon a powerful Magic Wand that allowed him to do real magic.  It started with Al turning invisible and then stealing gold, money, and jewelry.  However, S.P.D. was able to capture Al.  After some interrogating, Al revealed that Mysticon was working for Morgana.

Mysticon tried to get out of his agreement with Morgana, but Gruumm forced him to obey his orders.  He commanded him to obtain Dr. Helen Tyler Jones, by putting on a magic show for the New Tech University Science Center.  Sam was sent to observe the event, but the other Rangers went along as well.  During the event, Mysticon placed Syd under his control, as well as captured Dr. Helen Tyler Jones.  Before Mysticon and Morgana could escape though, the other Rangers stopped them.  Bridge managed to return Syd to normal and the Rangers freed Dr. Jones escape.

Mysticon then managed to get to an Evil Giant Robot, that Broodwing had been forced to give him.  The Rangers tried to battle the Robot with the Delta Squad & Omega Megazords, but were unsuccessful.  However, once the Rangers combined their Megazords to form the Delta Max Megazord, they were able to destroy the Robot with their Hyper Speed Punch Attack.

It is believed that Mysticon was then contained.
