Linear Review
Well after months and months without really any new RPM Toys, this new Toys R Us Exclusive comes along to offer us the ValveMax Megazord & a special High Octane Megazord.

First I need to explain what all comes with this Toys R Us Exclusive Set.  The High Octane Megazord in this set is the same that was sold exclusively at Disney Stores.  It has chrome covered pieces and some better detailing than the normal High Octane Megazord.   The ValveMax Megazord appears to be just your normal ValveMax that will likely be just the same as the individually sold one.  The set also includes two Engine Cell Keys, the Eagle Racer & Croc Carrier keys.  Only this time around the Eagle Racer Engine Cell has been fixed, there is no white box around the 1 emblem.

Now let's get to the review.  This High Octane Megazord is better in overall appearance than the first one we all got.  The small chrome covered pieces add a lot to the look of the Megazord.  I should note that the pieces are not chrome metal, just plastic covered in chrome wrapping.  Each Zord has some chrome areas.  Eagle Racer has them on the Engine / High Octane Head, and the tail pipes.  The Lion Hauler has them on the front wheel area, & on the silver High Octane Leg portions.  Finally the Bear Crawler has chrome on the underside for the gas tanks.  Plus the Super Saber has chrome for the tip of the sword.  Everything is virtually the same as the normal High Octane Megazord.  The only difference I've seen is that the Shield can only peg into one peg on the Megazord's arm.  This is most likely due to the other peg being wrapped in chrome, and thus being too thick to fit into the shield's hole.

The ValveMax Megazord is sweet.  All three Zords look spot on and feel sturdy.  The Shark Tail Spinner can move around 360 degrees.  The Wolf Cruiser can be locked in it's firing position.  The Crocodile Carrier is very accurate, even though in Zord mode, it is just one solid moving Zord.  Each Zord has their correct Engine Cell Key Compartments.  Plus, the Croc Carrier can carry the Shark Tail Spinner & Wolf Crusier on it into battle.  As the ValveMax Megazord, this formation looks great.  The joints and connectors work fine and they don't feel like they are too tight, or too loose to where they would fall.

Morphing the Zords for the two different Megazords is easy.  ValveMax is really easier than I expected, just a few disconnects and reconnects, twists & turns and your done.  Still, both Megazords feel very solid and good for display or play.  Both High Octane & ValveMax stand about the same height, with ValveMax just being slightly taller.

But the best part of the set is, of course, combining them into the Zenith Megazord.  This is easy to do, and this formation looks really cool.  Again, the joints & connectors for the arms of the Shark Tail Spinner & Wolf Cruiser are good and solid.  The Zenith stands just at 12 inches tall.  All the various colors really pop.  The arms are still free to move and be positioned, ready to fire, just like in the show.

The set is available in Toys R Us stores, as well as at www.toysrus.com/  Also, the online listing of the set has it listed as "Set A", so there there should be a good chance of a "Set B" coming with the Mach & PaleoMax Megazords.  Finally, for those wondering, I will still buy the individual release of the ValveMax Megazord, once it is released.

RATINGS
The ratings are based on the following scale:
1 Emblem is Bad
2 Emblems is Poor
3 Emblems is Okay
4 Emblems is Good
5 Emblems is Great

Kids

Kids should really love this set.  The Chrome High Octane Megazord really looks better, and children will really love the ValveMax Megazord.  They should have tons of fun playing with the Megazords separately, as well as combining them to the Zenith Megazord.  Finally, it's a good, strong and sturdy toy and easy for kids to learn how to morph together.

Collectors

For any collector that had thought about buying the Disney Store version of the High Octane Megazord, but didn't ever get around to it, this is the set to get.  With the Chrome High Octane & the corrected Eagle Racer Engine Cell, that makes half of the $45 price worth it.  Then you get the ValveMax Megazord on top of that, it's finishes out the price tag easily.  I think most collectors will find this set a really good addition to their collection.

Linear Ranger

I LOVE IT!  You know, when I first saw the designs and formations of the mechas from Go-Onger, I was not that enthused about them, but now owning the Bandai America versions of them, I've really been won over.  I love this set with the Chrome High Octane, the corrected Eagle Racer Engine Cell, and of course finally having a ValveMax Megazord.  Everything I wanted this set to be, it really is.  I think this year, Bandai America is showing to be better than the Bandai Japan versions.  I do hope that "Set B" does get released with the Mach & PaleoMax Megazords, because I will buy that set as well.
