Go-Phone ready for Change
Soul

Linear Review
Took me a while to get
to some Go-Onger Toy Reviews, so we'll start with the change for GoOn Red, Blue
& Yellow; the Go-Phone.
The Go-Phone returns yet again to the Sentai Changer theme of Cell Phone design. However, unlike years past, this time the phone is just too bulky for the current technology era we are in. In closed mode, the Go-Phone measures 1 3/4 inches thick, 2 3/4 inches in width, and 4 1/2 inches in length. So needless to say, it is quite bulky. Also as the phone is closed, you can see the three tiny red pegs that get pushed up when you press the buttons of the phone up. These pegs then push up and press the three buttons on the bottom on the Change Soul & Engine Souls to activate their sounds.
In Phone Mode, the Go-Phone measures 1 1/4 inch thick, 2 3/4 inches in width, and 8 3/4 inches in length. The buttons are a disappointment here. Instead of normal buttons, these you have to press upwards in order to cause the sounds from the Change Souls to activate. So it takes away from the overall look of the changer. Plus, the key are basically divided into three buttons really. First you have the Gold G Emblem Button. Then the Answer, Hang Up, 2, 4, 6, 8, *, and # buttons are done so that if you press say the 4 up, all those other buttons will go up as well. The same is true for the 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 0 buttons. To insert the Change Soul, you push up on the red release button on the right side. This flips the top of the Go-Phone open.
The Change Soul is really where everything is. It has all the lights & sounds, where as the Go-Phone itself is just an empty shell. The Go-Phone's Change Soul has a nice dark blue back behind the G emblem. The three buttons on the bottom of the Change Soul are how the sounds are activated. Once you place the Change Soul inside the Go-Phone, and latch the top back in place, the general Engine Soul Placement sound plays and the red light are on the Soul Lights up. This one small red light is all there is for the Change Souls. The remaining sounds are activated as follows:
Change -- Press the Gold G Button Up
Speedor Racing by Sound -- Press the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 1st time
Buson Racing by Sound -- Press the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 2nd time
Bearv Racing by Sound -- Press the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 3rd time
Speedor Racing Sound with Alert Beeping After -- Press and Hold the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 1st time
Buson Racing Sound with Alert Beeping After -- Press and Hold the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 2nd time
Bearv Racing Sound with Alert Beeping After -- Press and Hold the Answer, or Hangup, or 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or *, or # Button 3rd time
Speedor Honk Sound -- Press the 1, or 3, or 5, or 7, or 9, or 0 Button 1st time
Buson Honk Sound -- Press the 1, or 3, or 5, or 7, or 9, or 0 Button 2nd time
Bearv Honk Sound -- Press the 1, or 3, or 5, or 7, or 9, or 0 Button 3rd time
Speedor Honk Sound with Speedor Talking After -- Press & Hold the 1, or 3, or 5, or 7, or 9, or 0 Button 1st time

Collectors

Collectors will probably enjoy the fact that this is almost exactly like the changer used in Go-Onger, and the Morpher used in RPM. But the sheer bulkyness of the Go-Phone, plus all the features mainly being in the Change Soul really bring this toy down.

I'm okay with the Go-Phone. It's not the best changer I've ever bought, but I can't say it doesn't have both good and bad parts to it. The sounds in the Change Soul are nice, but for all the features to just be in the Change Soul, that kinda tanks.
