INT. THE PIT CREW GARAGE - DAY
Veronica “Ronny”, walks into a greasy, junk-filled garage.
RONNY
Nice...this place is gonna work out great. We’ll put the welding station here
and the oil changing bay can go in that corner...
Behind her is Will, who is less than pleased with the place.
WILL
You’ve been around too many exhaust fumes. This place is a dump! In fact,
we’d have to clean it up to get it into dump condition.
RONNY
Aw, have some vision. A little sweep here, a little scrub there...
WILL
Yep, nothing a small wrecking ball couldn’t fix.
RONNY
Will, chill. It’s a garage, it’s supposed to be messy. What’s the matter,
you afraid you’re going to get your fancy suit dirty?
WILL
It is designer, not that I expect you to know that but...
RONNY
What’s that supposed to mean?
WILL
Nothing. Forget it.
RONNY
Nice recovery. Now help me move this rusted fender out to the back.
She picks up an end of the rusty fender.
WILL
Okay, you got me. I don’t want to get my suit dirty. I’ve got a hot date
tonight.
RONNY
Let me guess. A model.
WILL
No. Actually, she’s a supermodel.
She hands him a pair of greasy overalls.
RONNY
Put these on. They may not be designer, but if you’re going to work here,
it’s standard issue.
Will begrudging takes the grimy clothes.
WILL
You know, it’s not a great idea for me to be working with heavy machinery. My
hands are my livelihood. They need to be able to feeel the tumblers when I crack
into a safe.
RONNY
So if you broke a nail it would be the end of the world. Please.
She hands him a pair of work gloves.
WILL
Speaking of which, I accepted this mission to stop the end of the world, not
work in a grease pit.
RONNY
We all agreed we’re going to need a cover. Hence you are no longer William
Ferraday, international superspy, you’re Bill Carter, everyday grease monkey.
She looks around the garage with excitement.
WILL
You love this assignment, don’t you?
RONNY
Getting to work on and drive the fastest, loudest, most powerful machines in the
world? Yeah, I’m pretty much in heaven.
WILL
You forgot about the part where the psychotic sub-Arctic maniac is trying to ice
us everyday.
RONNY
Yeah, that part I’m not too big on.
WILL
Me neither.
They share a vulnerable moment, both a little afraid.
RONNY
But there’s no turning back now.
WILL
Nope. No turning back.
RONNY
Okay, let’s start with getting all this junk cleared out.
WILL
How about after lunch? Even grease monkeys have to eat. Banana?
They share a smile.
