“How Nerdy Can Linear Be?”

March 27, 2010

Do you ever take a moment to look around your surroundings and consider just how nerdy or geeky you are?  Well I do.  The main occurrence of this happens during my yearly Spring Cleaning.  This is where I go top to bottom & all the way around my room dusting, cleaning & clearing out stuff I no longer need.  After finishing this week long process (yes it does take that long) I usually take pictures to then showcase exactly what my domain looks like.  This year is no exception.  So come along as I take you on a tour of my fortress of solitude and show you just how nerdy I really am.

Welcome to the tour of Linear Ranger's Room.  Please no flash photography. Children, please remain with you parents during the tour.  There will be a short period for questions at the end.  Please stay together, do not touch anything, and NO nothing is for sale.

So this is the view of my waterbed, headboard of my bed and back wall.  You'll notice the Power Rangers throw from Hot Topic, the 2010 Mighty Morphin toys, Retrofire Megazords, 1993/94 framed Power Rangers posters purchased when I was a child, and that drawing on the wall dead center, yes that is something I drew.  Yes, I know I suck at art totally.  Oh and the stack heading to the ceiling on the left, that's what happens when you run out of closet space.

Here is a view just focusing in on the headboard & back wall.

The Three Amigos!  Okay not really.  These are my three main Disney Plush, all bought from the Disney Store.  Stitch I got because he is an outcast like yours truly, Scrooge McDuck is my favorite Disney character of all time and I wish I had his wealth, & finally Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey Mouse is just awesome.

Here we have the 2010 Mighty Morphin weapons and Mix & Morph Base.

The 2010 "Dino" Megazord, pure awesomeness.

The Chibis!  I love these little collectible guys, and I think the Retrofire Megazord looks good with them.

The other Retrofire Megazords.  I do wish this line had gone on.

Beware the evil the lies here.  I have my Putty army, Super Legends Lord Zedd & 2010 Set Lord Zedd, Goldar and even General Venjix (okay really the Shadow Borg figure from Big Bad Beetleborgs).

Our 2010 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers figures.  I really do enjoy how great these figures look when posed.

Next we move onto my bookcase where on the top I have the Wild Force Deluxe Isis Megazord (one of my all time favs) , Hurricanger Deluxe Revolver Mammoth, and a promotional Ghostbusters the Video Game Box from Game Stop.

Moving down the bookcase you'll see the 12 Inch Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures of Dr. Ray Stanz & Dr. Egon Spengler, as well as their boxes with the special artwork facing you.  Plus the little Slimer figure that came with the 1:18 scale Ecto-1 that you'll see later.

On the same shelf we also have the 6 Inch Matty Collector Ghostbusters figures of Dr. Ray Stanz, Dr. Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore.  Plus you'll also notice my custom made Tobin's Spirit Guide.  See it does make for a cool display piece right?

The next floor door has my DC Universe Classic Figures, as well as my Green Lantern Blackest Night Ring Set.  I can't wait to get my White Lantern Ring.  Oh and Mattel, make a Martian Manhunter figure PLEASE!

The same shelf also holds my 5 Inch Iron Man Mark III & War Machine Figures from the first Iron Man Movie.  Plus my Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime, Transformers Animated Arcee & the Collectors Optimus Prime.

Going down.  Now we have my Kamen Rider Decade collection.  Honestly, you can't go wrong with a Kamen Rider that can become one of ten riders.

The same shelf also has my other Super Legends figures (yes I'm still missing the Titanium Ranger).  I also have my original Power Morpher still with original stickers, plus a second Power Morpher that I removed the stickers from and put the proper corrected stickers on, & added my Tyrannosaurus Power Coin in.  The other Power Coins are the Green & White Ranger coins made by other Power Ranger fans.

The final shelf holds my Kamen Rider Den-O collection.

More Den-O items.

The end of the Den-O shelf.

Making a turn to the right, we have my music center.  You can see my iPod Touch docked in my iHome base.  You also see two more plush items purchased at the Disney Store; Kim Possible & Rufus.  Finally the Dekaranger Changers are on the right, I just love those changers.

Going up once more we'll now be going to the shelf that spans most of the north & east walls.  First up we have the Kim Possible Collection, including the Kim Possible snow globe & Japanese Tomy figure.

Moving on we have more Ghostbusters items.  The NECA collection of Stay Puft, two Gozer Figures & the Terror Dogs, and Slimer.  Plus the 1:18 scale die-cast Ecto-1 that is awe inspiring.

Here we have the two Power Rangers Mega Mission Helmets, as well as a fully painted & detailed Power Rangers SPD Red Battlized Ranger Sonic Mode.  I really love that figure & had a blast painting all the details on it, thus why it is now in a display case.

Next we have the two greatest comic book super heroes of all time, Superman & Batman via their Bruce Timm Justice League designed figures.  To the right is Wing Zero Version Ka & Wing Zero Custom.  These are my favorite Gundams of all time.

In the corner of the shelf you'll see the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet, as well as the Optimus & Megaton Ornaments & the "Unleashed" Bumblebee statue.

On the east wall portion of the shelf we have three Digimon Digiwarrior figures; Omnimon, Imperialdramon & Imperialdramon Paladin Mode.  We also have the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Advent Belt.

Finishing off this spanning shelf we have the Yu-Gi-Oh display.  The three Egyptian God Figures of Obelisk the Tormentor, Winged Dragon of Ra & Slifer the Exectuive Producer...I mean Slifer the Sky Dragon.  They are all guarding my custom made Millennium Puzzle in display case.  To finish off the display I also have the first Duel Disk.

Heading back to the north wall for a bit, here we have a 23 year long dream achieved.  This is my custom made Real Ghostbusters Proton Pack, made by my Father, Grandfather & myself.  It helped me win a Halloween Costume Contest last year and I just love it.  To learn more of how it was made, visit http://www.linearranger.com/Halloween09/  Also in this area you'll see multiple Ecto-1 Hot Wheels cars, both in out & out of package.  Plus I have the Johnny Lightning Ecto-1A still in package.  The larger Ecto-1 is the 2009 Hallmark Ecto-1 Ornament.  The Statue of Liberty there is actually a dancing statue that moves to music or sound.  Let me tell you, that harbor chick can really move to "Higher & Higher".  Oh and yes that is the Halloween Costume version of the Shadow Saber for Power Rangers SPD.

And here we have my DVD collection.  I just purchased this bookcase to replace the older & smaller one that my collection had outgrown.  So let's go through it shelf by shelf.

The top shelf of course holds Power Rangers DVDs, well at least as much as one shelf can.

As the PR section spills onto the second shelf with home made RPM & 2010 Mighty Morphin DVDs.  I also have my Ghostbusters, Digimon, Kim Possible, Yu-Gi-Oh, & homemade Kamen Rider Decade DVDs here.

The center shelf holds a lot of my favorite TV shows & movies like Gundam Wing, Heroes, Back to the Future, Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story, more Pixar films, Harry Potter & Iron Man.  The CD cases hold more homemade DVDs of Kim Possible Season 4 & Yu-Gi-OH.

The forth shelf holds other movies, Bon Jovi's 100,000,000 Fans Can't Be Wrong Set, Empty DVD Cases and Holiday DVDs.

Finally the bottom shelf holds my blank DVDs & CDs, misc CDs & DVDs with old files, Disc Labeling kit, a few VHS tapes, two old desk calendars, some music CDs and a box holding some Digimon cards.

On top of my entertainment center I have my Toy Story toy collection.  These toys are awesome and most really do capture the exact likenesses from the movies.  Oh and Mrs. Potato Head is staying in her package until I'm completely sure that Hasbro isn't going to turn around and release a $50 "Toy Story Collection / Andy's Room" version of her, much like Thinkway Toys has done with Jessie.

Then here is my television, music CDs, various books, cable box on top of my VCR & DVD player.  Oh and yes that is a Ben 10 Omnitrix to the left.

Back to the east wall.  Here is my full Theater Poster of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie.  And yes I do have the Theater Poster for Turbo a Power Rangers Movie as well.  At the bottom of the frame are various movie tickets from movies I've seen.

Down from the poster we have my printing station.  I advise you not to look too long at the photograph of myself, it may cause sever damage to ones mental state.  If you can't tell, I like red sunglasses.  Everything sets on my printer, which for anyone considering buying a new printer, stay as far away as you can from Kodak.

And now the finale.  Here it is folks where all the magic happens.  This is my desk with my desktop PC, laptop, my Bon Jovi CD collection, Anniversary SPD Red Ranger figure, Kim Possible Mousepad & Poster.  And yes even my old Ghostbusters Phone that makes an excellent wall decoration.

So going back to the title.  How nerdy can Linear be?  The answer, VERY NERDY, and I'm dang proud of it too.

So that concludes the tour.  If you have any questions you can submit them to me on Twitter.  I hope you enjoyed the tour, the exit is to your right.

Have a Nice Day
